Rob Refsnyder was back at first base Monday, and also had a changed Twitter password.

“So far, so good,” Joe Girardi said of Refsnyder’s play at his new position before the Yankees hosted the Angels. “He’s made the plays. His at-bats have been good. He’s worked very hard at it, [but] a lot of plays, he has not experienced yet.”

It hadn’t all gone according to plan off the field, though, as Refsnyder woke up Monday to learn that his Twitter account had been hacked and some messages were sent out before he was able to regain control of his account.

“It’s unfortunate,” Refsnyder said. “I’m just trying to focus on playing first base tonight, but yeah, I’m sure I’ll have some people looking into that.”

The hacker was more unconventional than most. The messages — apart from one lewd one — were rather innocent, even encouraging him to switch the password. Maybe it was a good samaritan, teaching the youngster the dangers of an easily guessed security code.

“The guy was a nice hacker, I guess,” Refsnyder said, via ESPN.com. “I guess he just wanted to have some fun or something. Weird, right?”
