Robinson Cano will open the season batting sixth.

The 37-year-old gets the Opening Day start at second base against the Braves, the Mets announced.

Cano had previously been featured hitting third in the lineup throughout intrasquad scrimmages and exhibition games in summer camp. Pete Alonso will hit third in the opener, however.

Cano mainly hit third in his first season in Queens last year, but failed to live up to expectations. He finished with just a .633 OPS in 245 plate appearances in the three hole.
