The Yankees’ catching depth took a hit Thursday, as Robinson Chirinos was diagnosed with a fractured right wrist after being hit by a pitch Wednesday.
The team said Dr. Daniel Murphy and team physician Dr. Christopher Ahmad consulted and reviewed imagery. Wrist and hand specialists will be consulted in the coming days to determine the best next steps, including whether he should have surgery.
