Big loss for Philadelphia: Word from the Phillies is that Jimmy Rollins is now going on the 15-day DL because of the nagging ankle problem that has kept him out of the starting lineup since April 8. Because Rollins served as a pinch-hitter in Saturday’s 4-2 Mets win, the Phillies can’t make the DL move retroactive. That means the reigning NL MVP will miss at least two weeks.

It’s the first DL trip in Rollins’ eight-year big league career. The Phillies (8-10) are also without the injured Shane Victorino.

Eric Bruntlett will start again tonight at shortstop in place of Rollins.
