Yankees pitcher Angel Reyes was suspended for 50 games today after testing positive for stanozolol metabolites under baseball’s minor league drug program.

The suspension will start at the beginning of Single-A Staten Island’s season in the New York-Penn League.

A 21-year-old left-hander, Reyes pitched in the low minor leagues for the Yankees in 2006 and 2007, going a combined 0-2 with a 3.00 in 19 starts and 11 relief appearances. He struck out 110 in 111 innings.
