PORT ST. LUCIE — Duaner Sanchez threw 11 pitches in one inning of work Thursday night but said he won’t attempt to throw in back-to-back games until next week -– the final week of spring training.

The Mets have set consecutive appearances as a requirement for Sanchez -– who hasn’t pitched in a regular-season game since July 2006 because of shoulder surgery — to be on the Opening Day roster.

Sanchez was pleased by his effort Thursday against the Orioles, mainly because he gave his shoulder its stiffest test by throwing fastballs on nine of his 11 pitches.
