With the Mets’ season on the line, Jerry Manuel confirmed after tonight’s 6-1 loss to the Marlins that Johan Santana (pictured) will start Saturday on just three days rest. It’s just the second time in Santana’s career as a starter that he will pitch on such short notice. Santana will be faced by Florida right-hander Ricky Nolasco in the 1:10 p.m. start. Manuel also said Oliver Perez will pitch on three days rest Sunday if it is still a meaningful game.
