The Mets put catcher Brian Schneider on the 15-day DL tonight with a muscle strain in the middle of his back. They called up Omir Santos from Triple-A Buffalo, and Santos was scheduled to be in uniform and available tonight against the Brewers. Schneider, who first noticed the problem last weekend in Miami, is hitting just .143 (3-for-21) this season.
