The Mets and Yankees each had multiple prospects in Baseball America’s Top 100 Prospects list, which was released today.
Fernando Martinez was the highest-ranked prospect among the local players, coming in at No. 30. He was followed by Yankees Austin Jackson (No. 36) and Jesus Montero (No. 38).
Wilmer Flores, the Mets young shortstop prospect, was ranked 47th, and was followed by left-hander Jonathon Niese (No. 77). The Yankees first pick in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft, Andrew Brackman, came in at No. 92, and the Mets supplemental first-round selection in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, Brad Holt, rounds out the list at No. 94.
