A memorial for longtime Yankees and Mets official scorer Bill Shannon will be held Dec. 14 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Chapel on the campus of Columbia University.

The 69-year-old Shannon died on Oct. 26 in a house fire in West Caldwell, N.J. He was an official scorer in New York stadiums for 32 years. He also was an accomplished sportswriter, author and historian.
