According to The Post’s Joel Sherman, the Mets are unlikely to acquire a corner outfielder by Thursday’s non-waivers trade deadline. The Amazin’s like the Fernando Tatis/Endy Chavez platoon enough that they are unwilling to overpay for a veteran such as Raul Ibanez or Jason Bay. Sherman doesn’t think much of the Manny Ramirez rumors, either.
