ARLINGTON, Texas — Nick Swisher was a late scratch from the Yankees starting lineup against the Rangers due to sickness.

“I feel like everything in my body aches,’’ Swisher said.

It allowed Brett Gardner, with nine hits in his past 18 at-bats (.500), to re-enter the lineup. Gardner, despite the hot streak, was not originally scheduled to start.

Andruw Jones will play right field in Swisher’s place.

Derek Jeter leads off after sitting out Thursday.
