Sidelined Alou visits Mets
PORT ST. LUCIE -â Moises Alou showed up in the Metsâ clubhouse here this afternoon looking fit and hoping for a speedy recovery.
The 41-year-old left fielder, sidelined since March 3 by a groin strain that led to hernia surgery, said he expects to begin jogging next week and hopes to begin baseball activities by the second week of April.
Alou, who will begin the year on the disabled list, wouldnât predict a date for returning to the lineup but thinks it will be before the end of April. The Mets appear likely to go with Angel Pagan in left until Alou returns.
