Silent return for Yankees
Nick Swisher and teammates weren’t talking when they climbed on the bus to the Dallas airport yesterday morning.
And Brian Cashman, Joe Girardi and the rest of the Yankees who returned to The Bronx were quiet as they made their way back to the Stadium after a 6-1 season-ending loss to the Rangers in Game 6 of the ALCS on Friday night.
Girardi, whose contract is up at the end of the month, declined to comment on his managing future as he left the team bus, as did general manager Cashman.
They were joined by a handful of players, including Robinson Cano, Nick Swisher and Curtis Granderson, as well as the two pitchers who struggled on Friday, Phil Hughes and David Robertson.
