The Players’ Weekend all-white jerseys the Mets wore Friday night drew plenty of feedback from Gary Cohen and Keith Hernandez during the game against the rival Braves at Citi Field.

“I can’t even fathom who decided that white-on-white was a good idea,” Cohen said in an exasperated tone. “But of course the Mets, who are wearing white caps as part of the white uniform, but Jacob deGrom is wearing a black cap because a white hat would be a distraction for the hitter if the pitcher wore a white cap.”

Hernandez also had his own unique take on the controversial uniforms that also contain the players’ nicknames.

“It looks a little bit like the old ‘Mad’ magazine comic strip ‘Spy vs. Spy’,” Hernandez said.

“Yeah, that’s one way of looking at it,” Cohen said sarcastically.

Many on Twitter thought the uniforms were horrendous and that Hernandez’s comparison was right on the money:
