With their sixth round pick, the Mets took David Buchanan, a right-hander from Chipola JC in Florida. The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder was ranked 40th overall by Baseball America in the state.

Here is some extra info from BA on Buchanan: Teammate David Buchanan, a righthander, has a much bigger arm, running his four-seam fastball up to 96 mph and sitting at 90-94. He lacks control due to a poor delivery, but his arm works well and he has athleticism so he could smooth things out.

At times his curveball gives him a second plus pitch. He works hard but has to learn to get people out, rather than pitching for the radar gun and scouts.
