The Yankees have announced that individual game tickets for 2009 spring training go on sale Friday, Jan. 9.

Tickets can be purchased beginning at 10 a.m. at the Steinbrenner Field box office in Tampa, Fla.; online at www.yankees.com; or by calling Ticketmaster at (813) 287-8844.

The Yankees open their spring training schedule Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 1:15 p.m. vs. the Toronto Blue Jays at Knology Park in Dunedin, Fla. The Yankees’ first home game is Thursday, Feb. 26 at 1:15 p.m. vs. the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Yankees will play a 33-game Grapefruit League schedule, and two home exhibition games against World Baseball Classic teams: Tuesday, March 3 at 1:15 p.m., vs. Team USA; and Thursday, March 5 at 1:15 p.m., vs. Team Canada.
