When Pedro Martinez takes the mound in St. Lucie tomorrow for his rehab start, his opponent will be the top pick in last year’s draft – former Vanderbilt hurler David Price. Price, a 6-foot-6 left-hander who won’t turn 22 until late August, made his professional debut May 22, throwing five shutout innings. He gave up three hits, struck out four and walked one.

We will have inning-by-inning coverage of Martinez’s start tomorrow night, as the Mets have him slated to rejoin the team, and the rotation, next Tuesday in San Francisco.
