In years when the Yankees were signing free agents and making trades at the time of the Winter Meetings, they were represented by nobody.

GM Brian Cashman was ordered to stay at home. Now the Yankees aren’t expected to do much and you need a calculator to count Yankee heads.

Cashman arrived Sunday with Jean Afterman (assistant GM), Billy Eppler (big league scouting director), Mike Fishman (stat guy), Chad Bohling (director of optimal performance) and Anthony Flynn (another member of Cashman’s staff). Also spotted in the Dolphin lobby were trainers Gene Monahan and Steve Donahue and Dr. Stuart Hershon.
