Tiki Barber had the inside scoop — sort of.
The former Giants running back first mentioned during his radio show on Tuesday that the Wilpons could be selling the Mets — though he didn’t specify a potential buyer — a day before news broke that Steve Cohen was deep in talks to take on an 80-percent stake in the team.
“I just heard from a little birdie,” Barber said on “Tiki and Tierney,” his CBS Radio show with Brandon Tierney. “I heard that it was happening.”
Pressed for more details by Tierney, Barber said, “I heard from someone who knows somebody, who knows somebody, who knows somebody.”
Barber said the sale would be to someone “very important.”
“I think it could be happening,” Barber said.
