Will the Mets sweep their rivals out of Flushing, or can the Yankees finally stop the bleeding?

The Bombers enter the final game of the second Subway Series of the season on a six-game losing streak after losing to the Mets on Saturday, 12-6.

The Amazin’s, after a brutal stretch of their own, have suddenly won four in a row.

However, they have to patch things together as a staff on Sunday, with Chris Devenski opening and Brandon Waddell likely behind him in a bulk relief role, whereas the Yankees will send out Max Fried.

Who will take the finale?

Mets add another injury scare in Subway Series finale

By Andrew Crane

Starling Marte's right knee, the same one that contributed to the Mets' outfielder only appearing in 94 regular-season games last season, "flared up again" during his at-bat in the ninth inning.

After a pitch, Marte was examined and remained in the game, but he barely jogged down to first base once he hit a grounder. When asked about his level of concern, given Marte's history with the injury, manager Carlos Mendoza said he needed to wait until hearing what the trainers determined.

Marte added three more hits Sunday and has hit .325 with a .739 OPS over the last 11 games.

Edwin Díaz, Max Fried, Pete Alonso, Jazz Chisholm Jr. selected for All-Star Game

By Andrew Crane

When All-Star Game rosters were announced after the Subway Series finale, four players from the Mets and Yankees found out about their selection to participate in the Midsummer Classic.

Mets closer Edwin Díaz, Yankees ace Max Fried, Mets first baseman Pete Alonso and Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. all will make appearances at the event next week in Atlanta — their third, third, fifth and second appearances of their careers, respectively.

Aaron Judge and Francisco Lindor already found out about their selections.

Aaron Boone: Cody Bellinger catch was 'our play of the year so far'

By Andrew Crane

Carlos Mendoza called it "probably the play of the game." Aaron Judge called it a game-saving play. But Aaron Boone went a step further, calling the catch from Cody Bellinger that started the double play in the seventh "our play of the year so far."
