ATLANTA — Hisanori Takahashi’s major-league debut as a starter will come under the brightest of lights: the Subway Series on Friday at Citi Field against the Yankees.

With Jon Niese in New York and likely headed to the disabled list after he was diagnosed with a mild right hamstring strain, Jerry Manuel announced plans to start lefty Takahashi in Niese’s place.

The second part of the equation is a starter for Wednesday in Washington to take Oliver Perez’s turn in the rotation. That spot is expected to be handed to veteran knuckleballer R.A. Dickey, but the team has not made it official.

Dickey had a name plate in the visitors clubhouse at Turner Field but it was removed before the game. Manuel said he is awaiting word whether Niese will be placed on the disabled list before announcing a starter.

Dickey left Triple-A Buffalo and was expected here.
