The Yankees-Tigers game at Comerica Park on Sunday night has been postponed, as a mixture of rain and snow are in the chilly Detroit forecast.

The news likely comes as a relief to the Yankees, who were set to start Masahiro Tanaka on four days rest. The Yankees would prefer to give their ace extra rest, especially early in the season — which didn’t look to be possible after his scheduled outing Monday was pushed to Tuesday because of a rainout against the Astros.

While no make-up date had yet been announced, the Yankees-Tigers rubber match may be rescheduled for July 28.
