ST. PETERSBURG — George Steinbrenner paid a visit to the Yankees’ clubhouse prior to today’s regular season finale against the Rays at Tropicana Field.

The Boss arrived at 12:15 a.m. near the end of batting practice and was in the clubhouse about an hour meeting with players and staff members.

Steinbrenner isn’t planning on attending the ALDS that starts Wednesday at Yankee Stadium but may try and get to The Bronx if the Yankees advance to the ALCS.
