I hope you get a chance to read my column in today’s Post. It advocates that the Mets give Mike Pelfrey a chance to help the beleaguered bullpen. It also details a variety of options the club is still considering to strengthen its greatest weakness. The Mets know that they will probably need ingenuity most of all. That is because right now being in first place has a downside, and that is that so many other teams get a chance at a waiver claim on a player before the Mets.
