Meaningful September games aren’t an option for putting fannies in the seats at Citi Field, but David Wright’s expected last start for the Mets could help a bit.
Hours after the Mets captain announced his intention to play third base against the Marlins on Sept. 29, the cost of tickets for the game on the secondary market spiked.
According to a spokesman for Vivid Seats, the median listed ticket price for Wright’s final start increased from $21 to $158 following the announcement.
