Ticket prices have spiked dramatically on secondary-market websites in the past week, according to data compiled by TiqIQ, as Jeter returned from the disabled list and resumed his chase of the milestone.

It seems fans are putting their money on Saturday being the day — prices for that matinee experienced the sharpest rise, to an average cost of $194 after Jeter connected for two hits in his first two at-bats in Cleveland last night from $117 on June 29, a bump of 65.8 percent.

Friday tickets were not far behind with a 62.5-percent jump ($96 to $156), and Sunday seats went up 56.3 percent ($112 to $175). Even Thursday tickets, at an average price of $148, up 43.7 percent, were selling for far more than the season average on the secondary market.
