The Mets may not have to look far for their second-half savior — and it’s not Amed Rosario.

Tim Tebow continues to impress in the Amazin’s minor league system, slugging his first walk-off home run Thursday night to give the Single-A St. Lucie Mets a 5-4 win over the Daytona Tortugas in a seven-inning game in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

The former Heisman Trophy winner and Jets quarterback smacked a one-out, first-pitch fastball from Austin Orewiler over the fence in left field to close out a doubleheader sweep for St. Lucie.

“It was fun to celebrate with all the guys,” said Tebow, who was mobbed at home plate by his teammates and showered with Gatorade as a crowd of 2,667 fans cheered.

According to Tebow, it was his first game-winning homer since his junior year at Nease High School in Ponte Vedra Beach, near Jacksonville, Fla.

“[The high-school homer] was for the district championship,” Tebow said. “That felt pretty good, but this one was special.”

Tebow, who was promoted from Single-A Columbia in late June, has an 11-game hitting streak and is batting .327 with 10 RBIs with St. Lucie. It was his sixth home run in 80 games in his first minor league season in the Mets organization.

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson, whose major league club is 39-47 heading into the second half of the season, recently said signing Tebow wasn’t a “baseball decision.”

“Look, we signed him because he is a good guy, partly because of his celebrity, partly because this is an entertainment business,” Alderson said. “My attitude is ‘Why not?’ ”

Right now, Tebow is making the choice look like a wise one in both respects.
