Another year, another colossal meltdown for the Mets. Well, maybe not colossal, but the 2008 Amazin’s failed to make the playoffs – again – and to make matters worse, division rival Philiadelphia is now World Series champion.

Though there was a lot to be disappointed about in 2008, there were some bright spots for the Mets. Some of the young guys made their mark, some veterans proved their worth and at least a couple players came out of nowhere and had solid seasons.

So, while we can’t wait to see K-Rod close out the 9th in 2009, here are our picks for the top Mets of 2008.
