Trevor Bauer, who was suspended for two seasons due to sexual assault allegations, does not seem to believe Matt Harvey was disciplined enough for drug distribution.

On Tuesday, MLB announced that the former Mets star was suspended for 60 games following his admission that he provided opioids — which is a banned substance — to Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs, who died of an overdose in 2019. Eric Kay, a former Angels staffer, was found guilty in February 2022 on charges that he provided the drugs that killed Skaggs.

In response to the news of Harvey’s suspension, Bauer tweeted, “Matt Harvey admitted under oath in federal court to distributing drugs — a felony in CA — among other illegal activities like taking drugs himself, in a case where a teammate died. ’60 games’.”

Bauer, meanwhile, was placed on administrative leave by MLB last June as the league investigated claims of overly rough sex. Following the conclusion of the league’s investigation this past April, the Dodgers pitcher was suspended for two seasons.

In February, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office announced that it would not be pressing charges over the sexual assault allegations that were levied last year. Before that, a judge in the California Superior Court denied the accuser’s request for a restraining order.

Bauer, a former Cy Young winner, was accused of punching and choking a woman unconscious during sex. The 31-year-old pitcher admitted to having rough sex with the accuser, but said it was consensual.

During the case, Bauer’s attorney claimed the pitcher had text messages from the accuser “involving requests to be ‘choked out’ and slapped in the face,” and that “the woman spent the night, and left without incident, continuing to message Mr. Bauer with friendly and flirtatious banter.”

Bauer has since sued his accuser, as well as her attorney, Deadspin, The Athletic, and writer Molly Knight for defamation in relation to the case.
