PORT ST. LUCIE — Jose Valentin admitted today that he is considering surgery to address continued neck pain that has sidelined the veteran infielder since last Friday.

Valentin went through drills today to see if medication would solve the problem and is expected to give the Mets an update today. A cortisone injection or even disk surgery could be next.
