The Mets have just announced that Jose Valentin, who fouled a ball off his right shin earlier in the game, has a fractured tibia.

There’s a line in “A Few Good Men” when Tom Cruise is talking about what happened medically to someone and he goes, “I don’t know what any of that means. But it sounds pretty bad.” In that vein, I have no idea yet how long Valentin will be out, but I would think awhile. I’ll let you know when I hear more.
