Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander may not have cracked any skulls during the three bench-clearing brawls in the game against the Yankees on Thursday but he was still able to crack a joke on Twitter.

Verlander tweeted a meme from the movie “Anchorman” after a chaotic game where he nearly got into a tussle with his own teammate.

“Boy, that escalated quickly,” reads the gif of Will Ferrell playing dimwitted newscaster Ron Burgundy.

Eight players were ejected and four batters hit during the fracas.

Eventually, a baseball game broke out and the Tigers won 10-6.
