Gabe Vitalone’s stirring rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” can still soothe us, even if his Yankee Stadium debut has to wait.

Vitalone, who turns 98 next month, was set the sing the national anthem before the Yankees’ scheduled April 19 game against the Reds. The World War II veteran, a Yankees fan since the days of Joe DiMaggio, had booked the gig after a February audition in an empty stadium.

“This was the land of my dreams when I was a kid,” Vitalone told The Post’s Mike Vaccaro.

Now, with Major League Baseball’s schedule in flux due to the coronavirus pandemic that has gripped the world, a recording of Vitalone belting out the anthem that his family provided to The Post can tide us over until he gets to perform it live behind home plate.

Gave proof through the night, indeed.
