Former Yankees pitcher Chien-Ming Wang is close to re-signing with the Nationals, FOXSports.com reports.

The Yankees reportedly had an interest in exploring a return for Wang after losing free agent Cliff Lee to the Phillies and the uncertain status of Andy Pettitte.

Wang won 19 games for the Yankees in 2006 and 2007 but did not pitch in the majors last season.
