The Yankees lost two starting pitchers today when CC Sabathia was placed on the 15-day disabled list due to a strained groin muscle and Andy Pettitte suffered a fractured fibula in the fifth inning of the team’s 5-4 win over Cleveland.
Sabathia is expected to miss two starts and return to the team after the All-Star Break while Pettitte will miss at least six weeks.
Both players discussed their injuries on Wednesday.
