Sure, most of you could not care less about our access problems in the media. But Johan Santana isn’t making himself look good with his sudden decision not to talk with reporters between starts. The Mets’ $137.5 Million Man, who is scheduled to start Friday’s opener of the Subway Series at Yankee Stadium, gave the media the brush-off again tonight.
You would think for that kind of coin that Santana could take 5-10 minutes of his precious time to talk about such a highly anticipated moment, especially with the Mets constantly struggling for attention in the Bombers’ shadow.
But no.
Santana apparently doesn’t realize that we in the media are merely conduits between himself and the fans. You know, the people who pay his enormous salary.
