The bad news, if you’re a Yankees fan, is that moving to The Bronx shouldn’t dramatically increase Giancarlo Stanton’s home run total.

The good news? He’s going to be just as much of a power threat on the road as he will be in the bandbox that is Yankee Stadium.

According to MLB.com’s Statcast system, Stanton didn’t hit a single ball to right field, in 2017, at home, that failed to clear the wall at Marlins Park and would have done so at Yankee Stadium. That speaks to how far he routinely hits the ball. Stanton hit six homers to right field at Marlins Park in ’17.

The right field foul pole at Marlins Park stands 335 feet away from home plate, according to official measurements, whereas it’s just 314 feet away at Yankee Stadium. As per ESPN, Yankee Stadium had an overall 1.279 park rating for home runs in 2017, the second most slugger-friendly in baseball (after only Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia). Marlins Park, with a .835 rating, ranked 25th in this measure.

Since Marlins Park opened in 2012, Stanton went deep 114 times at home and 99 times on the road.
