COO Jeff Wilpon said the Mets are still hopeful they will be able to retain R.A. Dickey and David Wright long term.

Both players had their options picked up for next season but the Mets have said they could move Dickey if the right offer materialized.

“We’re just in process with both of them,” Wilpon said while handing out lunches to people affected by Hurricane Sandy in Coney Island. “Its ongoing. We’re going through the process with (GM) Sandy (Alderson) and our baseball people and try to get both of them signed. It doesn’t mean Sandy isn’t exploring other things, but that’s just a backup at this point.”
