Thanks to colleague Dan Martin, we have The Post’s story today on Mets COO Jeff Wilponinsisting the team is not for sale despite recent losses of $500 million or more by his father, team owner Fred Wilpon, in the Bernard Madoff scandal. As I mentioned before, despite the Wilpons’ comments, this situation bears watching. You simply don’t lose that much money overnight and not have it cause an impact.
