Matt Wise’s arm soreness turned out to be worse than the Mets first thought. The reliever was put on the 15-day DL today with what the club called a contusion of the right forearm. The stint is retroactive to April 2.

Wise, who was signed in the offseason, starting feeling the soreness last Wednesday, the day after giving up a game-winning homer in the 10th inning to the Marlins’ Robert Andino.

To take Wise’s spot, the Mets recalled right-hander Carlos Muniz from Triple-A New Orleans.
