To make room for Andy Pettitte to start today’s game against Tampa Bay, the Yankees sent Jonathan Albaladejo down to Scranton/Wilkes Barre. Albaladejo was impressive in his debut in pinstripes, throwing 2.2 scoreless innings in Friday’s loss to Tampa Bay. The 25-year-old held the Rays to one hit, and struck out four without walking anyone.
The 6-foot-5, 260 pound right-hander was acquired from the Nationals last winter for Tyler Clippard.
