Dominican authorities have busted four more people in the botched hit job on former Red Sox slugger David Ortiz — including a woman and two inmates, according to police and local media.
Lanny Estefanny Pérez Reyes — a woman also known as “The Venezuelan” — was taken into custody late Thursday alongside jailbirds José Eduardo Ciprián Lebrón, also known as “Chuki” and Carlos Rafael Álvarez — aka “Carlos Nike,” Telemundo reported.
Pérez Reyes is the wife of fellow suspect Oliver Moisés Mirabal Acosta and is registered as the owner of one of the vehicles allegedly involved in the assault on Ortiz, who was shot in a Santo Domingo bar Sunday, police said.
Authorities had previously been investigating whether Ciprián Lebrón and Rafael Álvarez — who is serving a 20-year sentence for robbery — arranged the scheme from behind bars in the Dominican Republic, the Boston Globe reported.
On Friday, police nabbed a 10th suspect in the case, a man identified only as “Alexander” or “Bone,” Listin Diario reported.
Cops had already busted six people in the shooting — which Ortiz survived — including the alleged gunman, former New Jersey resident Rolfi Ferreira Cruz.
The 25-year-old bizarrely claimed from his jail cell Thursday that Ortiz wasn’t his intended target — and doubled down on that on Friday as he was escorted through a courthouse.
“Sorry, it was a confusion. It wasn’t towards David. I didn’t recognize him. Everything was confusing. They only showed me the clothing of the person who I was to shoot,” Ferreira Cruz said to onlookers, according to Diario Libre.
Authorities say the group were offered nearly $8,000 to assassinate “Big Papi,” but they have yet to give a motive for the whack.
The shooter allegedly drove up to Santo Domingo’s Dial Bar and Lounge on the back of a motorbike, shooting the 10-time All-Star and three-time World Series champ point blank before running off.
Authorities say other suspects were caught on security footage plotting with the bike’s alleged driver, Eddy Vladimir Feliz García, before the attack.
Ortiz was taken to a local emergency room for surgery and was then flown to a Boston hospital, where he underwent a second procedure and is now recovering.
Ferreira Cruz is wanted for a pair of 2017 robberies in New Jersey, where he allegedly stuck up two men in Paterson, local authorities have told The Post.
