The Players Association Wednesday filed a grievance on behalf of Alex Rodriguez, as part of A-Rod’s appeal of the 211-game suspension that commissioner Bud Selig issued on Monday.
Officials from the PA and Major League Baseball will meet shortly to discuss a mutually convenient date for the appeal hearing in front of independent arbitrator Fredric Horowitz.
The entire process is not expected to wrap up until the offseason, allowing Rodriguez to finish the 2013 season with the Yankees. He re-joined the team on Monday after missing the first 110 games of the season rehabbing from a hip injury and more recently a quad strain.
