Aaron Judge didn’t waste much time reacting to news the Yankees agreed to a deal with ace Gerrit Cole late Tuesday night.

The Yankees slugger tweeted a “smirking” emoji minutes after reports surfaced that Cole, perhaps the best free-agent pitcher in MLB history, was signing a nine-year, $324 million contract with the Yanks.

Cole immediately makes the Yankees the likely favorite to win the World Series, and his contract will surpass Stephen Strasburg’s recently signed seven-year, $245 million deal with the Nationals as the largest ever given to a pitcher.
