With Keynan Middleton and Ian Hamilton still on the IL, the Yankees brought up two more relievers from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday in an attempt to provide innings to what’s been a struggling bullpen.
Right-hander Matt Bowman and lefty Anthony Misiewicz were recalled to take the place of Ron Marinaccio and Matt Krook, who were optioned to SWB following Saturday’s loss.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Bowman and Misiewicz had been in the conversation lately, as the Yankees have been forced to churn through bullpen arms late in the season.
“It’s left us thinner than we’ve been all year,’’ Boone said. “They’ve both had solid years down there.”
Bowman, 32, last pitched in the majors in 2019 with the Reds before injuries derailed his career.

He was put on the Yankees’ 40-man roster after opting out of his minor league deal in June.

He’s pitched in 127 major league games over parts of four seasons.
Ron Marinaccio has struggled in his sophomore season. Charles Wenzelberg / New York PostMarinaccio and Krook have both disappointed this year, with Marinaccio unable to stick in the majors after a promising 2022 and Krook unable to produce when given the opportunity in the majors this year.
The organization hoped in the offseason that the 28-year-old lefty could become a bullpen piece, which is why he was on the 40-man roster.
But he’s been scored upon in three of his four appearances.
