After failing to repeat as World Series champions, the Yankees will report for spring training on Feb. 14 and start workouts the following day.
New York said Monday it will open its spring training schedule against Philadelphia on Feb. 26 at Tampa, Fla. It will be the second-earliest spring training game for the Yankees, who began their 2009 exhibition schedule on Feb. 25 because of the World Baseball Classic.
The Yankees play Boston in Tampa on March 4 and meet the Red Sox in Fort Myers on March 14. The exhibition schedule ends against Detroit in Tampa on March 29. Seven of 16 home games are at night.
