No more softball uniforms, no more softball opponents.

After the Yankees dismantled the ghastly Orioles with a four-game sweep during Players Weekend, the Yankees returned to reality Monday in The Bronx.

Even though the White Sox entered 18 games under .500, they had won three straight and nine of 12. They also had tough left-hander Carlos Rodon on the mound.

That combination led to the end of the Yankees’ winning streak, as Masahiro Tanaka couldn’t hold a two-run lead and the Yankees lost, 6-2 and turned into the Keystone Kops late in the game.

They made three errors in the final three innings, a stretch Aaron Boone called “crappy.’’

“Overall, I didn’t think we caught the ball well,’’ the manager said. “We didn’t play a very clean brand of baseball.’’

After winning eight of nine, the Yankees had a chance to pull to within 5 ½ games of the idle Red Sox, which would have been the closest they’d been to the AL East lead since Aug. 1 and Gleyber Torres’ fourth-inning homer gave the Yankees a 2-0 lead.

Tanaka had pitched out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the top of the inning, but he faltered in the sixth.

The White Sox filled the bases again with one out thanks to two infield hits and a walk. And this time, Tanaka wasn’t able to get out of it, as Yoan Moncada tied the game with a two-run double.

Nicky Delmonico put the White Sox ahead with a sacrifice fly to left that scored Narvaez to make it 3-2.

Shane Robinson saved another run by making a spectacular diving catch of Adam Engel’s liner to left.

The Yankees wasted a golden opportunity to take the lead in the third.

Ronald Torreyes got the Yankees’ first hit when he opened the bottom of the inning with a triple to right-center. But Robinson grounded to third with the infield in for the first out.

Aaron Hicks followed with a grounder to short. Torreyes tried to score, but was thrown out easily by Tim Anderson. After Hicks advanced to second on a wild pitch, Giancarlo Stanton struck out looking.

Anderson led off the fourth with a double to right-center. Avisail Garcia reached on an infield single and Tanaka then drilled Daniel Palka to load the bases with no one out.

The right-hander responded by fanning Matt Davidson and Omar Narvaez before Moncada hit one up the middle that Tanaka deflected and Torres fielded behind second, where the shortstop was shifted, for the final out to keep the game scoreless.

In the bottom of the inning, Torres blasted an 0-1 pitch out to center, where it landed on the netting above Monument Park. The shot followed Andujar’s leadoff walk to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead. It was Torres’ 20th home run of the season.

Torres and Andujar became the first pair of Yankee rookies to each hit 20 homers in the same season.

But the offense stalled against Rodon, who entered the game 4-0 with a 1.60 ERA in his previous seven starts.

He walked Torres and Neil Walker with no one out in the seventh, but Kyle Higashioka popped out to the catcher in foul territory on a 3-1 fastball. Torreyes then bounced into an inning-ending double play to end the threat, as the Yankees fell to 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position.

Robinson and Luke Voit made some ugly errors late that helped the White Sox pad their lead.

“All in all, we were a little sluggish tonight and did not play our best game,’’ Boone said. “We’ve got to get on with it. We’re in a tough stretch right now.”
