ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Yankees have called up reliever Steve Garrison from Double-A Trenton to add another left-hander to the bullpen.

Sergio Mitre was placed on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder tendinitis. The right-hander is also suffering from a bacterial infection.

Garrison, 24, was 3-6 with a 6.26 ERA in 11 games (10 starts) for Trenton this season, his seventh in pro ball. The New Jersey native has not pitched in the major leagues.

“I have not stopped sweating since I woke up this morning,’’ said Garrison, who was claimed on waivers from San Diego last September.
