MINNEAPOLIS – Francisco Cervelli isn’t progressing as well as some of the other injured Yankees.

The catcher, who is recovering from a fractured right hand, has been shut down from catching and throwing in Tampa due to a right elbow problem.

“He has a stress reaction in the elbow and has been shut down for two weeks,” GM Brian Cashman said this morning. “It’s an old injury. We will evaluate after two weeks.””

Cervelli recently stopped catching simulated at-bats duriing workouts at the minor league complex.
